Bleaklow Head from Crowden

Yesterday I walked from Crowden to Bleaklow Head. At 633 metres (2076 feet), Bleaklow Head is the second highest point in the Peak District. A very enjoyable 11 mile walk.

The path to join Torside Reservoir

The sign that points to the sky, pretty much the angle the path climbs!

The very steep start

Near the top now

Nearly there...

Wain Stones (the Kissing Stones)

A look towards the Kinder Scout plateau

Bleaklow Head, the summit, and Pennine Way pointer for the route back down

On the way back down, and another helpful Pennine Way pointer

Wish I'd have seen this on the way up, I missed it and ended up on the Shelf Moss path, which turned out to be better as I hit Wain Stones first
